What UE Means
UE means the washer's sensors detected an unbalanced load during the spin cycle and paused to redistribute it rather than risk excessive vibration or a drum strike against the cabinet.
Common Causes of UE
- A single heavy or bulky item washed alone or with a small load
- Items tangled together on one side of the drum
- The washer sitting on an uneven or unlevel floor, which the machine can't fully compensate for
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Pause the cycle, open the door, and manually redistribute the load so heavy items (a single towel, a comforter) aren't bunched on one side of the drum, then restart the cycle.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Repeatedly forcing a cycle to run despite a persistent UE code, rather than addressing the load balance, is what actually causes premature suspension or bearing wear.
- If redistributing the load doesn't resolve it and the machine isn't level, adjusting the leveling feet incorrectly can make the vibration worse rather than better.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
