What F70 Means
F70 means the console (the display and button panel) has lost communication with the main control board — a wiring or connector fault between the two rather than a fault in either component individually.
Common Causes of F70
- Loose or disconnected ribbon cable between the console and main board
- Damaged connector pins at either end
- Main control board fault preventing it from responding to the console
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Power-cycle the dryer at the breaker for a couple of minutes; if F70 returns as soon as the dryer powers back on, that points to a genuine connection fault rather than a momentary glitch.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The ribbon cable connecting console to main board often routes behind the top panel and control housing — reassembling it incorrectly can pinch the cable and cause a new, harder-to-diagnose fault.
- Without knowing whether the console or the main board is the actual failed component, a guessed parts order has real odds of being wrong.
- Top-panel and console access can affect your remaining warranty coverage — check your terms first.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
