What E11 Means
E11 points to the humidity sensor used for sensor-cooking functions (like popcorn or auto-reheat settings) that read moisture in the air to judge doneness — manual time-cook functions are typically unaffected.
Common Causes of E11
- Failed humidity sensor
- Sensor vent path blocked by grease or food residue buildup
- Damaged sensor wiring
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Try a manual time-based cook setting instead of a sensor-cook option — if that works normally, the fault is isolated to the humidity sensor circuit as the code suggests.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The humidity sensor and its vent path are inside the cabinet near other electronics — not a safe area to access given the microwave's high-voltage capacitor risk.
- A sensor swapped without confirming the vent path is genuinely clear (versus just clogged) can mean the same code returns after the part is replaced.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
