What dL / dU (110 / Whirlpool-built Oasis) Means
On the Whirlpool-built Oasis platform, dL means the lid lock would not engage and dU means it would not release. Both are also reported as F-numbers in the eighties on this generation, which is why the same fault can appear under two different displays.
Common Causes of dL / dU (110 / Whirlpool-built Oasis)
- Debris in the lock recess stopping the strike travelling
- A failed lid lock and switch assembly
- A control board no longer issuing the lock or unlock command
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
For a lock that will not engage, unplug the machine and clear the lock recess of lint and small objects; for one that will not release, leave the machine unplugged for a few minutes before trying the lid again.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Reaching the assembly means lifting the top panel, which carries console wiring that is live with the cord in.
- Forcing a locked lid open breaks the strike and the lock body together.
- A lock fitted while the command is never being sent leaves you exactly where you started.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
