What nE / nF (796 / LG-built Wi-Fi) Means
nE and nF appear only on the Wi-Fi generation of 796-prefix LG-built Kenmore washers. nE is listed as a connection failure to the Wi-Fi module and nF as a failure of the module itself; neither stops the machine from washing.
Common Causes of nE / nF (796 / LG-built Wi-Fi)
- The harness between Wi-Fi module and control board unseated
- A failed Wi-Fi module
- A module knocked loose during a move or an earlier repair
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Carry on using the washer from its own console and treat the app as the part that is out of service; the wash system is unaffected by either code.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The module sits inside the cabinet next to the control board, which is live with the cord connected.
- These codes are not worth an urgent visit on their own, since the machine washes normally without the module.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
