What LF Means
LF means the washer is taking longer than expected to fill with water — the control board hasn't seen the tub reach its target water level within the time it allows before flagging a fill problem.
Common Causes of LF
- Water supply valve partially closed
- Low household water pressure
- Clogged inlet valve screen (a small mesh filter where the hoses connect to the machine)
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check that both the hot and cold water supply valves behind the washer are fully open — a partially closed valve is a common, fully external cause of a slow fill that looks identical to a bigger fault.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The inlet valve screens are accessible but small and easy to damage if pried at with the wrong tool — a damaged screen means a full inlet valve replacement instead of a simple cleaning.
- Disconnecting supply hoses without shutting off the valves first floods the area behind the washer.
- A valve that tests fine electrically but still won't fill points to a pressure or plumbing issue outside the washer itself, which needs different troubleshooting than a parts swap.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
