What F27 (110 / Whirlpool-built front-load) Means
F27 is the overfill alarm on Whirlpool-built 110-prefix Kenmore front-loaders. The documented behaviour is that the drain pump runs continuously and the door stays locked — the machine is bailing itself out and refusing to let a tub of water loose in your laundry room.
Common Causes of F27 (110 / Whirlpool-built front-load)
- An inlet water valve no longer closing fully
- Level sensing that has stopped reporting the true water height
- A pressure hose fault making a normal fill read as empty
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Shut both water supply taps behind the machine straight away; if water keeps arriving with the taps closed the problem is the plumbing, and if it stops, an inlet valve is passing.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Do not force the door while the machine is full — that is a tub of water at floor level with electrics beneath it.
- The constant pumping is protective behaviour, not a fault to be silenced by pulling the plug mid-cycle.
- Telling a passing valve from a sensing fault needs the level circuit read, which is inside-the-cabinet work.
