What E24 / E25 / E68 (417-prefix) Means
E24 and E25 on the 417-prefix Kenmore dryer report the thermistor as out of specification, while E68 reports a stuck key on the console. Different systems, but both sit under the same E-code scheme this platform uses.
Common Causes of E24 / E25 / E68 (417-prefix)
- A thermistor drifted from its specified resistance
- Residue holding a console key down
- A vent restriction distorting the temperatures the sensor reports
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
For E68, press each key in turn and clean the console face; for the thermistor codes, clear the lint screen and the vent run before assuming the sensor is at fault.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Cut power at the breaker before any panel comes off, and shut off the gas at the appliance valve on gas models.
- A key that will not free is behind a live console, which is not an owner-level repair.
- A thermistor replaced while the vent is blocked gives the same abnormal readings as the old one.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
