What F-24 / F-25 / F:24 / F:25 (110 / Whirlpool-built Oasis and Elite) Means
These codes on the Whirlpool-built Oasis and Elite dryers all concern the inlet thermistor, which measures the temperature of air entering the drum. The Elite chart separates them usefully: F:24 for a sensor reading open and F:25 for one reading shorted.
Common Causes of F-24 / F-25 / F:24 / F:25 (110 / Whirlpool-built Oasis and Elite)
- An inlet thermistor failed open or shorted
- Damaged wiring between the thermistor and the main board
- Moisture reaching the sensor housing through a poorly routed vent
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Clean the lint screen and check the vent run first; a heavily restricted dryer produces inlet temperatures the control was never designed to see, and that can present as a sensor complaint.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Shut off the gas at the appliance valve on gas models before any panel work, and cut power at the breaker on every model.
- The inlet thermistor sits at the hot end of the air path and the surrounding metal stays hot after a cycle.
- A thermistor replaced while the harness is damaged reproduces the identical code.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
