What F41 / F50 / F51 (110 / Whirlpool-built Oasis) Means
The Whirlpool-built Oasis platform uses a rotor position sensor to watch the drive motor. F41 and F51 report that sensor as failed, and F50 reports that it sees no rotation at all when the motor is commanded to run.
Common Causes of F41 / F50 / F51 (110 / Whirlpool-built Oasis)
- A failed rotor position sensor on the motor
- The harness between sensor and control board unseated or chafed
- A basket physically obstructed, often by an item escaped past the rim
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
With the washer unplugged and empty, check whether the basket turns freely by hand; free movement points at sensing, resistance points at the drive.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The rotor sensor sits on the motor at the base of the cabinet, on circuits carrying mains voltage in use.
- Tipping the machine for access is unsafe while the tub still holds water and awkward even when empty.
- A sensor replaced while something is jamming the basket reproduces the stall on the first spin.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
