What E24 Means
E24 signals a drain-circuit fault — most commonly a clogged drain hose or a drain pump that isn't clearing water, leaving standing water in the tub at the end of the cycle.
Common Causes of E24
- Kinked or clogged drain hose
- Clogged air gap fitting
- Failed drain pump
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the drain hose for a kink where it connects to the disposal or drain line, and confirm the air gap (if your installation has one) isn't clogged — both are external checks that resolve a share of E24 cases.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If the external hose and air gap check out clear, the drain pump itself is behind a wired, water-carrying access panel — not a safe next step without proper de-energizing.
- Standing water in the tub means any panel removal risks a spill onto floor electrical outlets nearby.
- A pump replaced without confirming the hose and air gap are genuinely clear can mean the same standing-water symptom returns almost immediately.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
