What Er FF / Er CF (795 / LG-built) Means
Two fan faults on 795-prefix LG-built Kenmore refrigerators: Er FF for the evaporator fan inside the cabinet, which moves cold air to the compartments, and Er CF for the condenser fan underneath, which carries heat away from the compressor.
Common Causes of Er FF / Er CF (795 / LG-built)
- A failed fan motor, evaporator or condenser
- Ice or debris physically blocking a fan blade
- Wiring to a fan damaged or unseated
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Pull the appliance out and vacuum the condenser coil area at the base; a condenser packed with dust and pet hair works the fan far harder than it was designed for.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Unplug the refrigerator before the base grille or the freezer rear panel is removed — both cover line-voltage parts.
- A condenser fan replaced without the coil being cleaned runs hot and fails again.
- An evaporator fan frozen into ice shears its blade if forced by hand.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
