What Er HS / Er SS / Er rt (795 / LG-built) Means
Three of the less urgent 795-prefix LG-built Kenmore sensor codes: Er HS for the humidity sensor, Er SS for the pantry sensor — the pantry being the deli drawer — and Er rt for the room temperature sensor that measures the kitchen rather than the cabinet.
Common Causes of Er HS / Er SS / Er rt (795 / LG-built)
- A sensor shorted or out of specification
- A wiring fault in the sensor circuit
- A drawer sensor disturbed when the drawer was removed for cleaning
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check whether the affected drawer is actually holding temperature by putting a thermometer in it for a few hours; often the appliance is performing fine and only the sensing has failed.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Unplug the appliance before a drawer sensor or its housing is disturbed; the harness ends at a live board.
- Drawer sensors are easy to damage further when a drawer is levered out without releasing its stops.
- These faults rarely stop the appliance cooling, so weighing the repair cost against the benefit is reasonable.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
